Troubleshooting:
Biometrics are enabled but Enpass requires my Master Password
Once you have have enabled biometrics in Enpass, you may still be asked for your Master Password if…
-
Your computer has been rebooted (Mac, Windows, or Linux)
-
You are relaunching Enpass after it has quit unexpectedly (Mac, Windows, or Linux)
-
You are relaunching Enpass after quitting the app manually (⌘+Q on Mac, Control+Q on Windows and Linux)
-
You have updated your device’s biometrics — for example, by adding a new fingerprint
If your device’s biometrics have been updated, you can re-enable your Enpass biometrics in Settings > Security.
-
Enpass may also ask for your Master Password occasionally to help keep it fresh in your mind. You can choose to dismiss these reminders instead of entering your Master Password.
If you prefer to turn off the reminder feature, go to Settings > Security and select Disable Master Password Reminder.
-
In editions of Enpass downloaded from the Mac App Store or the Windows Store, a Master Password is not required on reboot or relaunch once Touch ID or Windows Hello are enabled in Settings > Security > Quick Unlock.
