Using passkeys & authentication codes

Using passkeys & authentication codes in Enpass Business

Beyond just managing passwords, Enpass can be used for next-level security measures like passkeys and single-use authentication-codes.

Passkeys

Passkeys are the next generation in account security, eliminating the need for passwords by generating matching digital “keys” on your device, one of which is kept by your account, while the other lives encrypted on your device.

When logging in, instead of using a password, the two keys match up with each other to confirm you’re really you. Because passkeys have two parts kept in different places, they can’t be guessed, stolen, hacked, or captured by scammers.

Passkeys kept in Enpass Items are synced across devices and can be shared within your organization without risk of exposure.

One-time authentication codes

Also called time-based one-time passwords (TOTP) — are like the 6-digit codes you sometimes get via text or email to confirm your identity, but far more secure because they’re generated on your device instead of being sent to you from elsewhere.

When logging into your accounts protected by two-factor authentication (2FA), Enpass can autofill these codes, which eliminates the need for a separate authenticator app. When added to Items in Enpass, these codes are also synced across devices and can be shared within your organization.
