Viewing your Master Password

Viewing your Master Password

In Enpass for iOS or Android, if you have biometric authentication enabled (Face ID or fingerprint), you can peek at your your Master Password.

To view your Master Password:

  1. Unlock Enpass using biometrics (Face ID or fingerprint).

  2. Go to Settings > Vaults > Primary Vault.

  3. Tap ICON-UI-more.svg in the top-right corner.

  4. Select Show/View Password.

This feature is available only on Enpass apps downloaded from the iOS App Store or Google Play.

If your Master Password is not being accepted

Before concluding that your Master Password is lost, try:

  • Type your password in a text editor (like Notepad or TextEdit) where you can see it clearly, then copy and paste it into Enpass.

  • If your Master Password is case-sensitive, be sure you’re using the correct combination of uppercase and lowercase letters.

  • If your password contains accents or special characters, ensure they are entered correctly.

  • If you use multiple keyboard layouts or languages, confirm the correct layout is active.

  • Double-check that Caps Lock or Num Lock is not enabled, which could alter your input.

If you’ve forgotten your Master Password

Because Enpass stores no user data on company servers, Enpass cannot recover lost or forgotten Master Passwords. All your data is under your exclusive control. If your Master Password is lost, reset Enpass to start over as a new user.

If you have a mobile with biometric authentication (Face ID or fingerprint) enabled for Enpass, the Master Password may still be viewable by following the steps outlined above.

If you are using Enpass Business, you may be able to request access recovery from your Admin.
