Using & syncing vaults in Enpass

A vault is a secure space (an encrypted database) that stores your Enpass data.

Enpass starts new users with a single Primary Vault, but additional vaults can be created if you need to some of your data sequestered, stored separately, or shared with other Enpass users. Each vault in Enpass has its own name, password, icon, and storage location, but your Master Password unlocks access to all your vaults.

Enpass syncs your vaults between all your devices without sending any data to Enpass servers, keeping your data more secure than apps that require users to store your passwords on their own clouds servers.

Your Primary vault in Enpass

The first vault you create in Enpass is your Primary vault. The name and icon of your Primary vault are not customizable. The password of the Primary vault also acts as your Master Password for accessing Enpass on your devices. All other vaults you add in Enpass are referred to as secondary vaults.
