Verifying Email Domains

Before a user can be added to your organization, whether manually, via CSV, or through Identity Provider, their email domain needs to be on your verified domains list. This guide covers how to add and verify domains, check their status, and remove one when it's no longer needed.

Verifying a domain proves your organization actually owns it, using a DNS check. Once verified, users on that domain can be added, licensed, and synced through your Identity Provider; users on unverified domains can't be added or licensed through Managing Business Users until their domain is verified.

ℹ️ Prerequisite This feature is only visible to Super Admins.

  1. Log in to the Enpass Admin Console.

  2. Go to Settings.

  3. Select Domain Management from the section list.

Here you'll see your organization's verified domains in the domains list. Domains awaiting verification appear in the Pending verification list.

Adding a Domain

  1. Type the domain you want to add into the input field and hit Enter.

  2. A Verify ownership window opens with a TXT record. Copy this record and add it to your domain's DNS settings; this proves to Enpass that you own the domain.

  3. Click Add Domain. The domain now appears under Pending Verification, and Enpass begins checking your DNS in the background.

  4. Once verification succeeds, all Super Admins are notified by email, and the domain moves to the organization domains list.

💡 Tip: If you've already added the TXT record, you don't have to wait: click Verify now next to a pending domain to trigger an immediate check.

ℹ️ Note: Verification requests that remain unresolved for 7 days are automatically marked as failed, and Super Admins are notified by email.

Cancelling a Domain Verification Request

  1. In the Pending Verification section, click Cancel Request next to a pending domain you want to cancel.

  2. Confirm by clicking Remove in the popup that appears.

Deleting a Verified Domain

Before you can delete a verified domain, you must first unassign all licenses from users whose email addresses use that domain (go to the Users page to unassign licenses).

  1. On the Domain Management page, click the x icon beside the domain you want to delete.

  2. Confirm by clicking Remove in the popup that appears.

⚠️ Before you delete: A verified domain can only be removed once both of the following are true:

  • No administrator accounts are associated with the domain

  • No licensed users have email addresses on the domain

If either condition isn't met, deletion will be blocked until you unassign the relevant licenses or admin roles.

ℹ️ Adding a domain again: If you remove a domain and want to add it back later, you'll need to go through the full verification process again.
