This page covers how to deploy the Enpass browser extension for Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome, both manually and via UEM/MDM.
Prerequisite: Native App Required
The Enpass browser extension does not function independently. It requires the Enpass Password Manager native app to be installed on the same device. The extension communicates with the local app to autofill credentials, credit cards, and identities in the browser.
Before deploying browser extensions, ensure Enpass has been deployed to the device using the appropriate platform guide:
Microsoft Edge
Manual Installation
-
Open the Enpass extension listing in the Edge Add-ons Store.
-
Click Get to install the extension.
-
Click Add extension to confirm.
Deploying via UEM/MDM
Use your UEM's browser policy management capability to force-install the Enpass Edge extension silently. The extension ID to use is mliehcloacfoicbanjhhnlimealolgoi.
Most UEM platforms support pushing browser extensions via policy. Refer to your UEM's documentation for configuring Microsoft Edge extension deployment.
Google Chrome
Manual Installation
-
Click Add to Chrome.
-
Click Add extension to confirm.
Deploying via UEM/MDM
Use your UEM's browser policy management capability to force-install the Enpass Chrome extension silently. The extension ID and update URL to use are:
-
Extension ID:
kmcfomidfpdkfieipokbalgegidffkal -
Update URL:
https://clients2.google.com/service/update2/crx
Most UEM platforms support pushing Chrome extensions via policy. Refer to your UEM's documentation for configuring Google Chrome extension deployment.
Safari (macOS)
The Enpass Safari extension is bundled with the Enpass native app for macOS — no separate installation is required. Once Enpass is installed, the Safari extension can be enabled directly from Safari's extension settings.
There is no MDM deployment step for the Safari extension; managing the Enpass macOS app is sufficient.
Firefox
Manual Installation
-
Click Add to Firefox.
-
Click Add to confirm.
Deploying via UEM/MDM
Firefox extension deployment via MDM varies significantly by platform and Firefox edition (standard vs. ESR). Refer to Mozilla's enterprise documentation for guidance on force-installing extensions via managed configuration.
