Tracking User Onboarding Progress

The User Onboarding Overview card shows how your users are progressing through the Enpass deployment lifecycle. Each stage represents a meaningful milestone — from receiving a license to actively using Enpass at work.

The Four Onboarding Stages

Users move through the following stages in order. Each stage shows a count of users who have reached it, along with a pending count for users who have not yet moved forward.

Stage

What It Means

Pending State

Assigned

License has been assigned to the user

Unassigned Licenses — licenses not yet given to anyone

Activated

User has activated Enpass using their email

Activation Pending — assigned users who haven't activated yet

Onboarded

User has created their vault

App Setup Pending — activated users who haven't set up a vault

Using Enpass

User has added items and started using Enpass for work

Usage Pending — onboarded users who haven't added any items yet

Reading the Onboarding Overview

Look at the numbers flowing from left to right across the four stages. A healthy deployment shows:

  • Most assigned licenses are activated

  • Most activated users have completed vault setup

  • Most onboarded users are actively adding items

Large drops between any two stages indicate a bottleneck worth investigating. For example, a high Activation Pending count may suggest invitation emails are being missed or filtered as spam.

Viewing and Acting on Pending Users

Every pending count is a clickable link. Clicking it opens a detailed list of users stuck at that stage.

Each pending user page shows:

  • Total count of users at that stage

  • A searchable table with each user's name and email

  • The number of reminder emails already sent to each user

  • Options to send new reminder emails

You can search by name or email, filter by how many reminders a user has received, and select multiple users to send reminders in bulk.

Common Bottlenecks and What to Do

High Activation Pending count Users may not have received or noticed their invitation email. Send a reminder and ask IT to check spam filters. Consider sending a direct message through an internal channel (Slack, Teams) to alert users.

High App Setup Pending count Users activated but didn't complete vault setup. This often happens when users start the process on one device and don't finish. Send a reminder with a link to setup instructions.

High Usage Pending count Users set up a vault but haven't added anything yet. This is the most common sticking point. Consider running a short training session or sharing a quick-start guide to help users add their first credentials.
